Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Review Whatever the strengths of EA’s Star Wars Battlefront series, its tactical shooter sheen has always suited the Empire more than the Rebellion (let alone the Jedi). Fallen Order is different, capturing more fully Star Wars’ adventurous spirit and mythological grandeur. Its approach to worldbuilding and Jedi lore takes clear inspiration from sources beyond the Star Wars movies, particularly the work of Star Wars Rebels creator Dave Filoni (intended as a compliment: I had to look up, and was surprised to learn, he wasn’t involved), whose stories have significantly expanded the mythology of the Force beyond the movie series’ narrow focus on the Jedi and Sith....

[HTML1] Emulating the staggering success of World of Warcraft is video gaming’s very own holy grail. Many have tried, and many have failed. Toppling Blizzard’s beast has even become something an industry-wide obsession over recent years, as competitors line up around the metaphorical block to throw away millions upon millions of investment dollars. Wisely opting for an ‘If you can’t beat them: join them’-type mantra, fledgling development studio Upheaval Arts, is hard at work on a WOW clone inspired by Blizzard’s equally popular Starcraft series....

Naturally, you can’t please everyone, and as StarCraft II play styles and build orders evolve that perfect balance becomes a moving target - but it is nice to see a developer take the comments and play results as seriously as Blizzard does. Casual StarCrafters tend not to notice or care about these kinds of tweaks, but each one makes a difference in the high-level e-sports play that the original StarCraft pioneered....

In a viral Reddit post that has received 5,900 upvotes, with the top comment getting 9,700, u/gala_lala wrote that friends bought her presents to celebrate her 16th birthday. According to Star Citizen developer Chris Roberts, he of Wing Commander fame, the game has become the Guinness World Record holder for largest crowdfunded project ever. Not largest crowdfunded game, but project. Roberts made the announcement in conjunction with Star Citizen’s latest crowdfunding milestone: $55 million. And the project’s record will only continue to grow, as Star Citizen funding still regularly rolls in. Sure, funding has slowed considerably as of late, but not enough to keep it from earning about $1 million every month....

Despite the stigma rightfully attached to most movie tie-in games, Digital Extremes’ Star Trek is shaping up to be a fitting small screen counterpart to the big screen adventures of fan favorite characters Kirk and Spock. A new trailer and some lush concept art capably demonstrates why the game is one of the most anticipated releases of early 2013. First revealed just before E3 2011 (and originally slated for a 2012 release before being pushed to 2013), Star Trek’s emphasis on co-op play, and aesthetic faithfulness to Abrams’ celebrated and successful cinematic reboot, quickly marked the game as a title to watch....

With that comes a certain expectation both in terms of quality and support. All games within the Electronic Arts family are held to a certain standard (whether they deliver is up for debate), and they also receive a generous amount of love when it comes to mobile and social layers. It’s for that reason that Star Wars: Battlefront will have its own version of Battlelog when it launches later this year....

In addition to Star Wars 1313, another game titled Star Wars: First Assault was supposed to be announced last fall and it was a predecessor for an eventual Battlefront 3....

The Bad Batch, which premiered its first two episodes in the first week of May, takes place right after Emperor Palpatine’s Order 66 towards the end of Revenge of the Sith and follows Clone Force 99, a defective yet elite pack of clone troopers whose programming keeps them from turning against the Jedi.
