For those who may think that The Old Republic is just a Star Wars version of World of Warcraft, the truth is that BioWare is trying something very different with their own MMO. While Blizzard has introduced a major plot twist into WoW with Cataclysm, The Old Republic may as well be seen as a single player narrative, that just happens to have millions of people playing it. The story trailers have emphasized that players will be playing a role in a centuries-old conflict between the Sith and Republic, and the developers feel that the inclusion of the dialogue system from Mass Effect is just one more way for players to be pulled into the game....

Unfortunately for those who have been crossing their fingers, the changes aren’t exactly world-shaking and don’t offer any adjustments that contradict the original release of The Rise of Skywalker. But some may find them to be a worthwhile improvement. The most noticeable from the start is a small color shift of the whole movie, switching out that blue-green filter that confused many viewers for something a little more standard. Aside from that, the new materials also include some updated subtitles, which some might see as a long time coming, especially in one particular scene....

DICE has spoken openly about the creative freedom it was given for the game’s development and the choice to explore the classic Star Wars universe. Hal Hickel, animation director at Industrial Light & Magic (the VFX studio that inspired countless others to take a crack at Star Wars), tweeted out a possibly unfamiliar image of Vader, calling it a “Rogue memory.” The shot shows the imposing villain silhouetted against a large screen in a dark room while an unidentified figure stands off to the side in shadow. Sega announced Sonic Generations earlier this year as part of their ongoing celebration of Sonic’s 20th Anniversary. For nearly half a year Star Wars gamers have been trying to make sense of a sudden cancellation that left Battlefront 3 on the cutting room floor. While Disney’s acquisition of LucasArts caused a lot of anxiety about the fate of in-development projects, and resulted in the untimely abandonment of third-person shooter Star Wars 1313, Battlefront 3 was reportedly 99% complete at the time of its cancellation....

Additionally, the first piece of promotional material for the game has been released, that may be quite telling of what type of game Star Wars fans are in store for.
