Maybe Nintendo should try branching out more often, because so far, Splatoon is paying off big-time. Splatoon topped the sales charts in Japan at launch, and fans are buzzing about the game’s innovative, off-kilter gameplay. In turn, Nintendo will reward fans for their enthusiasm with a new Inkbrush weapon, which will be available tonight at 7 p.m. PT as free downloadable content. The Inkbrush is reminiscent of Splatoon’s paint roller, although it’s much faster on the draw and isn’t quite as powerful....

It was that amount of work before announcing the game, highlighted by beautiful visuals and a promise of a triple-A next-gen experience for PC players that made Chris Roberts’ words bankable, so much so that Star Citizen immediately earned the support of longtime space fans. Although Square Enix was slightly caught off guard, the company seemed to be ready for the Star Ocean 5 reveal anyway and kicked things off with a retrospective reveal trailer....

With only a short tech demo and brief gameplay sequence to show, LucasArts positioned Star Wars: 1313 as one of the most-talked about games at the event. Interest in the title has only increased with the release of the first official gameplay trailer but, following the recent acquisition of LucasArts’ parent company (LucasFilm) by Disney, many gaming fans began to wonder if the darker storyline in Star Wars: 1313 might be toned down by the Mouse House....

It’s a little too easy to take shots at BioWare given the past few weeks of The Old Republic drama.
