As much as Skyrim is lauded for being an incredibly rich and engaging open-world role-playing experience, the gameplay itself comes down to two basic elements: acquiring items and killing things. Thankfully Update 1.5 looks to improve both aspects by correcting dozens of glitches and quest-breaking errors, and making executions and attacks of all types even more satisfying. The one aspect of the update that most fans will be excited to see is the addition of new Kill Cameras for both ranged and magic attacks....

Moscow - Road-building for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi is three-quarters complete with less than a year to go for the opening ceremony, the head of the state firm responsible for the work said on Friday. Nearly $4.9 billion is being spent on expanding and modernizing Sochi’s road network for Russia’s first Winter Games, which start Feb 7. Roman Starovoyt, the head of government infrastructure company Rosavtodor, said on Friday the work that began not long after Russia won the right to host the Games in 2007 was 77 percent complete....

President Vladimir Putin this week toured the facilities and gave a speech at a ceremony marking one year before the start of the Olympics. “We inspected all the facilities in the Olympic Park,” Zhukov said Friday. “When we made our application, we promised the Sochi Games would be one of the most high-tech. Those who have been waiting patiently for Episode 2’s release date wound up getting a rather pleasant surprise last weekend, as an incomplete version of the game was accidentally released on Steam for a brief period of time before quickly being removed from the online service – though not before some users were able to download and try the game for themselves. Part of what is so interesting about Spider-Man: Edge of Time — besides getting to once again play as dual Spider-Men — is the time-bending adventure. You see, in 2099’s universe the world has become drastically altered as a result of the death of Peter Parker and so 2099 and Amazing Spider-Man must work together to stop Walker Sloan from rewriting history. There have been quite a few different shows with the Star Trek name ever since the original series wrapped up. For us gamers, however, the union of Disney with Marvel and LucasFilm (parent company to game developer LucasArts) meant some pretty exciting interactive experiences were likely in our future. It wasn’t a question of if, but simply a matter of when. While we know that Electronic Arts is hard at work on several Star Wars products, we still haven’t heard much about Star Wars or Marvel games from the Disney branch....

Part of that requires including properties that aren’t just Disney but Disney-owned. That’s why this year’s entry, Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition), focuses heavily on one of Disney’s more recent and profitable acquisitions. Building off of that it was a pretty safe bet to assume that Disney Infinity might one day include Star Wars in its toys-to-life experience. With the excitement still riding high, Star Wars Battlefront design director Niklas Fegraeus took to Twitter to provide some new information and reveal some interesting tidbits. For players looking for technical info, Fegraeus was able to confirm that the title would be running at 60 frames per second, though no information was detailed on resolution. The rumor suggests that none other than Hera Syndulla, captain of the ship known as the Ghost and prominent member of the Star Wars Rebels cast, will join the new series in place of the Cara Dune, who was played by recently ousted actress Gina Carano. Canonically, Hera has been involved with several important moments such as the Battle of Scarif and the Battle of Endor, so this would just be another notch on her belt....

As part of the current $2 trillion relief package, electronic checks are supposed to give the economy a much-needed boost.
