Anticipate no more, as Namco Bandai has unleashed a plethora of media for fans of the series to sift through until the distant release next year.
The countdown at the Namco Bandai page has ended, unveiling a trailer for the game, as well as a trendy Facebook fan page - one which requires ‘Likes’ to unlock hidden images. Considering the relatively lukewarm response toward DICE’s attempt to utilize its fan base through Facebook for Battlefield 3, it remains to be seen whether the SoulCalibur page will reach its goal in a timely fashion.

Namco Bandai has also shared some story and gameplay details for the sequel - a good thing since the prior game had a rather definitive ending:
It looks like a new protagonist will finally be taking the helm from Siegfried, though the previous hero will return as well. This is a significant jump for the series, but not an unexpected one. If Mortal Kombat is any indication as to the future of fighting games, we might be seeing a much deeper story in SoulCalibur V.

After a quick YouTube refreshment course, you might remember that the trailer is in fact the ending to SoulCalibur IV - specifically Siegfried’s ending. There’s no indication on how Project Soul plans to bring back Siegfried and Nightmare, or what any of the other characters have been doing for the past 17 years - but expect the fog to clear as the Facebook page gains popularity and E3 creeps ever closer. A strong showing from Project Soul could be just the reinvigoration fans disappointed by the most recent releases (me included) might need.
