Not wanting to leave PS3 players entirely in the dark - Ghost Warrior released last year for the Xbox 360 and PC - City Interactive was kind enough to drop off two trailers for the game, one depicting snipers setting their sights on guerilla insurgents who are murdering prisoners. The other is a more in-depth look at how Sniper: Ghost Warrior is played, and how players will need to pay attention to everything around them to get the perfect headshot.

The trailers emphasize the level of detail and care put into bringing what may arguably be the most realistic sniping experience to the gaming world. The trick will be however, is if it will be enough to keep players fully involved with the game. It’s one thing to sell a title on a specific experience, yet there has to be more to it than just “a good sniping game” to make sure it stands out and lasts on a gamer’s shelf.

It’s why the second trailer makes everything so right. Demonstrating the plethora of different skills one will have to utilize, including finding sniper perches, spotting for your teammate, using throwing knives under the cover of bush, and more. It could be the beginning of a wonderful subsection of the FPS genre.
So if you’re ready to get your gillysuit on and wait in the brush for that perfect shot, you’ll be in luck come tomorrow. Otherwise, there’s always Halo: Reach to keep you busy.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior is currently available on the PC and Xbox 360 and is set to arrive for the PS3 on June 28, 2011.
